  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs, at room temperature
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 12 oz semi-sweet chocolate, good quality, chopped
  • 3/4 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 3 oz chopped white chocolate, good quality

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×13 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, black cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, beat softened butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, followed by vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually mix dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  5. Spread batter evenly in the prepared pan and bake for 25–30 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. For the ganache, heat heavy cream until simmering, pour over chopped chocolate, let sit for a few minutes, then stir until smooth.
  7. Once bars have cooled, pour ganache over them and decorate as desired.
